After crossing the hardest part of the desert I arrived to the city of nukus in middle of nowhere the reward of getting there was to be sick for 3 long days, I got to know really good the toilet in my room and I felt that I could not eat or drink without rushing to the toilet like a crazy man.

My comfort was that there is TV and the world cup in football so it was nice to see all the games and be a part (as I could) in this amazing time and also was happy that Chris(the guy that cycling with me in the desert) were there to check that I am alive.

My visa to Uzbekistan was for 1month I already been here 2 weeks (the desert+sick days) so I really needed to cycle fast and hope that my stomach will be ok.

hello!

hello!

We had some more desert to cross, sand dunes all over but the road was ok in most of the parts so we could also enjoy it, local nomads the live there were welcome us with waving hands and even them took photos of me… it weird to say that but I think that even when I am in a touristy place the locals take more photos of me then I am taking photos of them.

A tourist attraction for the locals…

After 5 long and hard days with 600 km we got to the city of Bukhara and I was excited from this place because all the stories about it from my friends that their parents came from this place.

The old part of the city is something to see and I felt like cycling in a time machine into the old days.

It was nice to rest in this city and enjoys the food and the locals, I was wick after the desert and the sick days and the rushing on the bike because of the stupid visa didn’t help my body needed to recover from all of that.

When I need to rest I don’t want to do nothing only rest read a book seating in a small coffee place and write in my diary even to go to the internet and check my mail taking from me energy but that’s life…

In Bukhara I visited the Jewish parts and to hear from the locals about there relatives that went to Israel.

In the photos you will see better how this amazing place look like…

Wish you all the best and I need to go to rest now.

the amazing people of turkey

Mon ,17/05/2010

since the last post i cycled in the nice roads of turkey.

tell you the truth my rout didn’t take me for the most beautiful places that this amazing country has to offer but i can write you, my friends, on the amazing people in turkey.

the Turkish are famous of there chai (tea) and every one in every time should say yes to tea.

it was really nice to cycle on the road and every some km people shout at me to join them for the tea, after couple of times i am sorry to say no for them because i cam to cycle around the world and not for drinking good tea around the world…

my new work : making bread

my new work : making bread

one time in this kind of break i asked a guy how many tea cups he is drinking in a day.

he thought  and thought  about it again and answer me:

“i don’t know how much cups but you should ask how much liters of tea we drink in a day.”

believe me my friends lady gaga is better them madona...edit

i was surprise of my fast learning of basic Turkish and i could answer good of the normal question that most of the people ask like:

whats is your name?where you from? where you going? why you are not married? you want tea?

Israel and turkey has ups and downs on their relationship as countries and now its a little hard time for us so i was sorry to tell the people (for safety reason) that i am from America or south Africa and thats was hard because i am not good in lies  and really hate it  but its better like that.

every evening i stopped usually in gas station and ask the people to camp and i was enjoying their company and collected friends on the road.

right now i am in the city of trabzon on the black sea that’s  no so black…

the sumela monastery is an interesting place that i visit her , a nice monastery that situated on a cliff, a good food for the eyes.
