Soon in Africa

Hey my friends and family in this world. I have a flight tomorrow to south Africa but I got to tell you some stories to tell you and photos to show you.Usually I am not cycling with a partner and I prefer to cycle alone but there are some special cases for a really special people. In the last 2 weeks in this amazing place of Patagonia I meet a man that it’s more amazing then the landscapes of Patagonia. His name is sjaak (you say it like shak) and he is from Holland. He started his journey also in Alaska 2 months before me also alone and we meet only now, really close to the end of America. From the first sight that I saw him I learn a big lesion of life - There is no age for the dream. Sjaak is 62 years old. Many people on the way told me if I was young like you I could do this kind of things but we are too old…He divorce 4 years ago and left his home a place and started to see America. When I cycle with him I am learning every day new things from his experience and I am happy that I can do that also and not only learning from my mistakes. He is really strong guy and he cycling in old fashion style-with out many stooping(only for eat) with out camera and most of his gear have more years then main…He don’t talk a lot but when he talked it’s always something that forth talking and I needed to learn him before I will start to be crazy in my normal way… After 10 days of cycling together he started to be open with me. He told me about his life before and why he is in this place now with me. I was in shock when he told me that he almost can’t move his left shoulder because of a hard accident with his motor bike 25 years ago.62 years old and with left shoulder that not really work… and I taught that I am strong.
On one eating break when we seating behind a big rock that give us a shelter from this hard wind he say to me – “yea, all the people told me to wait another 3 years that I will be retired and then go to cycle in America but I told them that another 3 years I can be in other place and not in this world…”
love you

South America – the end

Thu ,02/04/2009

Hey to all my friends and family around the world. I am proud to tell you that I got to Ushuaia the southernmost city in the world and it the end of my journey in America. From tip to tip, Alaska to Ushuaia. After more then 30000km and more then 20 months on the way, my way. it’s hard to describe the feeling but try to imagine it. It’s amazing what you can do with one bike and one Amuna (faith in Hebrew).  The Argentines call this city “the end of the world” but in my eyes I can see Africa… In the end of April I will fly to Cape town in south Africa and start my way on the black Continent and will keep on dreaming in open eyes. It’s going to be interesting believe me. Thank you all for all the energy that you all give me. I will write more on the last days and adventures soon.
Love you all.
Roei “jinji” Sadan.
